Brighten up your day

On Sunday morning I slept through my alarm and while I woke to lovely bright sunshine, I had missed my oldest friends baby boys christening! We did make up for it over lunch and newspapers confirm I can officially blame it on the clock change and silly iPhone 4 mmm...

But with March change of the clocks comes the late light and warmer weather and I am sure we are all wishing for summer to finally arrive. Don't get me wrong, I love winter with its wonderful layers, knee high boots and stylish coats but lets be honest, I am ready to embrace the slightest hint of spring so that we can finally lose those trousers, socks & hats and show some leg.

With all the wonderful new ranges out in store right now I have already selected a few gorgeous dresses and shorts that I will wear with my heels this summer. But until spring completely shows its face, there are still ways to brighten up your wardrobe and wear your favourite Love Art Wear Art shoes. Feeling too chilly for bare legs? Get the tights out and brighten up your day!

Introducing Tani

I love Tani for its towering simplicity. This sexy, striking T-bar peep is right up my street. I love the over lasted platform that gives you hidden height and the criss-cross stirrup-like straps. The peek-a-boo cut out t-bar makes for a very sexy and unconventional silhouette. But my favourite detail must be the over-hung strap visible from the back. This shoe will make you stand strong, walk tall and conquer all!

The sumptuous pale grey nubuck would be perfect for power dressing in the office. Wear it with a fitted shift or tailored trouser suit, effortlessly chic. The soft shimmering bronze with the bitter choc heel is perhaps more suitable for something a bit more glamourous. Slip them on for a romantic meal at Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden or vamp up your vintage for a Burlesque night out at Volupte. Or even better... wear them (and only them) while seducing Mr Wear Art at home!

Official Love Art Wear Art launch!

Last week was a big week for both London fashion and Love Art Wear Art. On Wednesday the 23rd of Feb, with London Fashion Week drawing to a close, Love Art Wear Art celebrated some fabulous footwear with a launch party for the Spring Summer 2011 range. It was a big night for us, the culmination of months of hard work and a celebration of our big love and passion for shoes.

The launch was held at the intimate and chic Ladiray Gallery just off Oxford Street. Some shoes were showcased suspended in golden birdcages, hanging down from the ceiling and tied with red ribbons.  Others perched on pedestals made from our pretty Nika shoe boxes. On the walls behind the shoes, on printed canvas was the original drawings that make each pair of shoes its own piece of lovingly crafted, wearable art.

The cages have a special place in my heart as there were lovingly hand made for us by my father Gert le Grange. The cages looked beautiful and even though my parents couldn't be there on the night they were definitely there in spirit.

The turnout on the night was great and the gallery was buzzing. Nibbles came in the form of some delicious cupcakes, courtesy of baker extraordinaire, Ms Peters, and there was free-flowing bubbly to drink. The evening was filled with friends, laughter and not just a little shoe lust. A good night in my books!

The range itself was inspired by my travels and by the Nigerian artist Chris Ofili. Underlying the Nika range is an ethnic feel expressed through sky-high heels, gladiator straps and rich jewel-like studs. Each piece of the collection is designed with the shoe-lover in mind; from the buttery soft luxury leather used, to the varying heel heights and hardware detailing. We love each and every one of our shoes, and to make sure you know how exclusive they are, we have individually numbered each of them with a tiny metal banner on the breast of each shoe. In the Nika collection, there will only ever be 50 pairs in each style and colour.

Thanks to Darren and Dale (our lovely boys) who were always at hand with another glass or some footwear fitting assistance. The comments from the fit section at the back of the gallery were great. We are happy to report that the comment 'So comfortable!' came up on a number of occasions

We had a fantastic night and want to thank all our friends, supporters and the lovely blog writers and press for their support and kind words. We hope that you had a great evening. Until the next time...
