Spring time ballet bridal shoot with Rock My Wedding

With spring around the corner it is lovely to look back at one of my favourite shoots from a while back. This fabulous spring time shoot by Rock my Wedding is feminine and soft and you can almost feel the light sunshine through the leaves.

Rock My Wedding created this lovely styled shoot in the theme of Ballet - En Pointe. Think feminine, think glamorous and think….pink. Filled with an abundance of roses, ribbons, beautiful table decor, the most stylish gowns and completely covetable make-up and hair looks. Not to forget the fabulous footwear, our gorgeous Scarlett t-bar of course!

You can view the full post with more beautiful inspiration here but below are some of our favourite images. Enjoy!

LAWA Real Weddings - Emma & Chris

Summer 2014 was a busy bridal season and another of our lovely couples are Emma & Chris Turner. Their wedding was Friday 6th June 2014 at Iscoyd Park in Whitchurch Shropshire.

They were lucky and had an amazingly sunny day. Emma wore our Carmen sandals and to quote her: "My Carmen Ivory Shoes are my favourite shoes ever!! It was very warm and the shoes were the most perfect choice. They were airy so I felt really light in them.... but so pretty and vintage looking at the same time. I managed to dance the whole night away in them with all of my old school friends, which is a memory I will never forget."

The wedding was vintage/great gatsby inspired. Emma wore a beautiful Jenny Packham Willow Dress and "borrowed" art deco style chandelier earrings. One of my favourite photos is of her daughter (below), she loved the shoes too and kept trying to put them on! What a cutie, love the heart shaped sunnies, must get some stat!

Dark red & ivory - a timeless wedding palette combination

In our previous post we showed our Scarlett dance shoe in Wedding Ideas magazines ivory and dark red inspiration page. I love this classic and sophisticated colour palette - my mom chose it for her wedding in 1967 and I think it is just as beautiful and current today! It is a timeless look that is so simple and beautiful.

Below I've pull together some more photo inspiration.  I think with dark red, less is more. Statement lips, a bold bouquet, a deep red silk tie or bow tie, and of course roses and lots of them!

Wedding Ideas Magazine - Scarlett Inspiration

Always a popular choice, our Scarlett t-bar dance shoe is looking picture perfect with this romantic wedding inspiration in deep red and ivory in the January issue of Wedding Ideas Magazine. The glitter panels adds a touch of glitz & glamour to compliment a vintage inspired beaded dress beautifully

LAWA Real Weddings - Sharice & Matthew

This lovely couple is Sharice and Matthew Hartley. Their wedding was on the 6th of September 2014 at the glorious Raithwaite Estate, Whitby. What a lovely setting, so stately and beautiful! Sharice is a definite Love Art Wear Art convert and I am so pleased to share her positive experience.

Sharice: "My Kunja White heels were the most beautiful and comfortable pair of shoes I have had the pleasure of wearing. I have M.E. and have a lot of pain to contend with on a daily basis so heels are something of a rarity for me nowadays but these heels were still comfortable when I took them off after about 15 hours of wearing them. It's really hard to find comfortable wedding heels that look so beautiful! The grounds of our venue was extensive so we had a lot of walking to do and our 1950s rock and roll band at the evening reception meant a lot of dancing so these heels were well and truly tested for the comfort factor! But as well as being the comfiest heels ever they were truly stunning and got lots of compliments."

Sharice wore our Kunja White glitter heel peep toes. Sharice: "It had rained quite a bit on the morning so outside I had to raise the hem of my dress, all the better for showing off those glittery heels!"

Q&A with the talented accessory designer Rosie Willet

I'd like to introduce you to our the creative designer and entrepreneur Rosie Willett. We have recently expanded our accessory offer and are proud to present Rosie Willet bridal tiaras & hair combs as part of our online collection. Each piece is designed and individually handmade by Rosie, using intricate hand stitching and beading techniques. Swarovski Crystal, Pearl and Diamante are combined with the finest fabrics including Silk Organza, Satin, Tulle and French lace to create the most stunning bridal accessories.

When and why did you start your business?
Rosie Willett Designs was established in 2008. At the time, I felt that there was a limited choice of stylish hair accessories for brides. Most of the designs available were mass produced traditional tiaras that just didn't seem special enough and I saw a gap in the market for headpieces that were individually handmade, stylish and high quality. We offer a wide range of designs, including classic tiaras, vintage inspired side tiaras, romantic floral headpieces and bohemian forehead bands and hair vines. I make each and every headpiece individually by hand using only the finest materials, including Swarovski crystal and pearl, silks and French lace.

Who are your style icons?
Rose Byrne always looks amazing and I'm obsessed with her hair! I also like Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny for their quirky yet slick styles. Fashion in old black and white films is so inspiring too - I love Hitchcock's heroines.

If you weren't a designer, what would you be doing?
I really can't imagine not being a designer as this is what I love to do and have always been artistic. I have also been a ballet dancer since the age of three and part of me wishes that I had pursued this further as a career. I still manage to dance at the weekend, although I'm now doing hip hop classes rather than ballet! It's very different, but good fun and a great way to relax.

What’s your motto in life?
"Make your own path". Sometimes you can look at other people and feel that you are supposed to live your life in the same way as them, but I've learned that following the herd doesn't necessarily bring happiness. Our individuality is what makes us interesting and I find people who do things a little differently refreshing.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
This summer, I designed a bespoke headpiece for Georgia Horsley for her wedding to Danny Jones from McFly. The wedding was featured in Hello magazine, with a beautiful image of Georgia and Danny on the cover. The 'Georgia' headpiece is a delicate hair vine that can be worn across the forehead or further back in the hair. It's now my best selling headpiece!

At LAWA we love traveling, where is your favourite destination, in the UK or abroad?
I've recently been to Menorca and it's my new favourite place. It's so peaceful and pretty, with secluded coves and beautiful pink and purple flowers everywhere. It's also quite a special place as it's where we got engaged.

How would you style and wear your favourite pair of shoes from the Love Art Wear Art collection?
My favourite pair of shoes from the Love Art Wear Art collection is Scarlett. I love the plaited detail on the T-bar and the combination of fabrics. I think they would work perfectly with a stylish embellished bridal dress, but I would also wear them afterwards with skinny jeans or a little summer dress. They are a very versatile pair of shoes!
